thanks to you

Last night we visited the mountain valley oasis that is my parent's new house.

Sunday family walks are probably in my top five favorite things to do in this world.
(Eating root beer cookies and puppy-anything are also in the top five.)

I'm feeling much better than I was and that's mostly because of you and all your wonderful, sincere, kind comments on Saturday's post.
Thank. you. so. much.

In the brief moments on Saturday morning that I seriously contemplated just deleting this whole blog, a  very inspirational movie quote suddenly came to mind:

"If you're gonna let one stupid prick ruin your life...
you're not the girl I thought you were."

First: just for the record, I hate the word, "prick."
Second: in my case, it was unfortunately a whole gang of ______.
Third: yes, it's totally a Legally Blonde quote.
Lastly: This wasn't the first time that quote has burned within my heart.

I also found similar gems of wisdom in all your amazing and encouraging comments this weekend:

"Haters gonna hate." (a classic)
"Keep doing you."
"Sometimes people just don't know."
A link to TSwift's "Mean" music video.
"Thanks for making the world suck less."

So I guess all there is left to say is...
Thank goodness for Legally Blonde, Taylor Swift, and the best blog friends a girl could have.

People are just gross to each other. SERIOUSLY. I love your blog. So, so much.

It's kind of hilarious (in a horrible way) how much time and effort they took to be mean. Really, it boggles the mind.

I didn't blog over the weekend, so I didn't see that last post.

Sam, I know what you mean. There are people who are miserable, who don't realize that others are happy because they've chosen to be happy, despite difficulties.

They think that happy blogs are fake blogs. When really, everyone has a story. Everyone goes through hard times.
True happiness comes from within, as a courageous response to hard times.
I think that there are a lot of people who are afraid to be too "personal" on their blogs, so their blogs come off as a little more shallow, but that is only because they are more private people.

(And for the record, I don't think your blog comes off as shallow).I wish that haters would stop judging.

Keep smiling Sam. Let your light shine.

you are fabulous. I completley agree. Blogging is an easy avenue for someone to use who is justin the mood for being mean. Totally un called for. I blogged about my misfortune with ____ on Sunday. Lame ness! I really like all these quotes. I have been seeing a therapist lately and one thing we talked about in my last session was just being me no matter where I am. I've always felt like a chameleon having to adapt to certain circumstances to make people happy. I'm learning that I just get to be no matter what and I get to let who I care about "vote" in my life. Some random stranger doesn't get to vote if they like your blog or not.

Thanks for being you, and sharing you, and keeping it real. I'm glad you've got a corner on the Internet that I can visit and sit down to drink tea and laugh a bit.
*hugs*
