a letter at 26 weeks

(We're still working on filling out the top of this dress.)

Dear little cryings,

We've been together, you and I, for 26 weeks now.
Starting next week, we'll be on the home stretch: 3rd trimester town, baby!

Every day, I thank my Heavenly Father for each and every one of your little (and big!) movements I can feel. You are such an active, sassy gal.

Yesterday, I found the perfect name for you. Now I'm just working on getting your daddy to agree. He likes it, so that's definitely a start. Don't worry, I keep at it.

Speaking of your dad, lately he's been on belly button watch 2012. My poor little button is stretched to the limit and we're both weirdly excited to see it finally pop out. (Kinda gross.)

On Thursday, we start a birthing class. Can't wait to learn more about you and what to expect on the day that you decide to come out here and be with us!

We've also been busy reading up on the best ways to take care of you after you're born. We just want to be the best we can for you. We've fallen in love with Attachment Parenting theory and are excited to actually put what we're learning to good use!

See you in three months, little girl.

Love,
Mommy

We're pretty Attachment Parenting here too. I love that you still have great style while pregnant.

You look great! Don't worry about the top of the dress -- things get bigger up there really fast!

Can't wait to hear the name you're thinking of.

Some aspects of AP I really liked and worked well for us. Others didn't live up to my expectation. I'm kind of a smorgasbord mom in that way!

Oh you are looking darling! The last time I was here your little bumpy was much smaller. I love watching a bump grow :).

Cheers.

Looking great! :) So happy and excited for you!
Though I don't know anything about AP I have heard a LOT of good things about the book Baby Wise. So it might be worth the time to check it out. :) Happy 26 weeks!

Sam, what a sweet letter and a darling baby bump! I'm a huge advocate for attachment parenting, and I feel very alone and out-numbered in my ways of thinking. Sometimes I feel like the entire world (except my husband--who's the only one whose opinion matters anyway!) is just gawking at me in disbelief, shouting, "Why don't you just let your baby cry?!!" I'm happy that I just smile politely and continue following my instincts by practicing attachment parenting; I know it's best for my baby.

Congrats! I'm 31 weeks pregnant and cannot wait to meet this little guy. Isn't pregnancy the craziest thing, there's actually a baby in there (I have to remind myself of this sometimes).
