HERO
Trying to find the perfect name for our little baby was super fun but surprisingly difficult for us. We went through tons of baby name books and during my pregnancy, thought we had found THE name about...5 different times.
We also discovered that Chas, probably the most laid-back guy ever, is apparently reeeeeally picky when it comes to baby names.
We both had our favorite names and then some names that we both liked but neither of us loved.
We eventually were able to agree that we loved the name "Ro" as a nickname.
Then the quest was on to find just the right full name for the nickname, Ro.
I have to give credit to H who, during a name brainstorming session via text, suggested the name Hero.
As soon as she suggested it, I knew right away that Hero was the name for our girl.
It's strong but uniquely beautiful.
(All throughout my pregnancy, our midwife ALWAYS described our baby as "so strong!" so we knew her name needed to have some umph behind it.)
We can use "Ro" for the nickname.
It's from Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.
(Not that that really matters to either of us but hey, a classic literary reference can't hurt.)
It honestly took Chas a little bit to warm up to the name.
I don't blame him. It is pretty bold and different.
(But that was just another thing I adored about it.)
I couldn't move on from the name.
Suddenly, no other name seemed quite right.
For some reason, I just felt deeply connected with the name and that it was meant for our daughter.
Eventually, Chas was fully on board.
Hooray!
And now, every time I hear someone say her name, I'm reminded of how awesome a name it is and how much I love it.
We love our little Hero.

wow, i love it! beautiful and prophetic!
She is a BEAUTIFUL baby! And really...I tend to be prejudiced. I typically only think my nieces and nephews and cousins are cute. But she really is so so so cute! A perfect mix between Sam and Chas. And Sam and Chas are cute. So double the cute...equals one extrememly adorable baby! Love the bloggity blog! Keep inspiring! :)

I think it is the most amazing name. I mean seriously. It's strong, bold, and yet still has a sense of feminine charm to it. Congrats!
I love unique names!! For Kaya we thought initially we were going to name her Raiden, my favorite character from mortal kombat ( I am a dork lol) and its Japanese for the God of Thunder. But when we saw Kaya we knew that was her name.
I love how perfectly unique her name is to you guys! Its a beautiful, strong name that is all her own, and was picked with such love and thoughtfulness! What more could a sweet little girl want in a name :)
I loved the name when you first introduced it to us, but now that I know the story of her name I love it even more.
Welcome baby Hero.
I actually love the name Hero for a girl. Congrats she is beautiful!
