busy, busy

I painted this self-portrait a few summers ago.
It's high-time I do another.

***

It's been a busy week for me.

I recently became an art therapy subcontractor and my first gig is at a residential treatment center for adolescents.
I'm in the process of designing an 8-week art therapy group curricula for three different groups of boys.

I haven't worked with all-boys since my grad school days when I did my internship at a jail for boys.
I love doing art therapy with boys.
It's challenging and invigorating.
Hard work and great work.

I've also been wrapping up my summer class at UVU.
I can't believe the final is next week. It seriously feels like the term just started three days ago.
Next week will be filled with reading final papers and calculating grades.

Meanwhile, Chas' awesome family is starting to gather to Utah for a huge family reunion.
Then again, every family reunion is huge when you have 9 siblings like Chas.
It'll be a love fest like Kelly reunions always are.

Oh yeah.
And my parents decided, like yesterday, that they're selling their house and moving, like tomorrow.
We're sad they won't be our neighbors anymore but excited for their new adventure in Alpine, Utah.

And then there's always the need to make time for what's most important in life:
Watching Pawn Stars with Chas on Netflix.

Heaven forbid we let that fall by the wayside.

But guess what?
Tomorrow is Friday!
Fewf.

The more I read your blog the more I find we have in common. Even our husbands. My husband Chase LOVES pawnstars. Now if I could only get him to let me take pictures of him like Chas lets you! ;)
Every time you talk about your class I get a little more jealous that I can't take it because I live in AZ. But I took a 4-week non-credit "art journaling" class with my mom this summer and LOVED it. It reminded me a lot of what you do. It was definitely therapeutic in a way and a great creative outlet!

Pawn Stars is one our faves! We went to a few estate sales last weekend and pretended like we were on our own show. We're cool like that:-) xoxo
