So we can dress him/her in this little scooter jacket!
My sis-in-law, Eliza, recently surprised us with this little cutie patootie.
She said it reminded her of us and of this:
This month, I'm trying to focus on all good things about life without a little cryings.
Things like sleeping in on Sunday morning until noon.
Things like late-night treat runs, movie runs, store runs...basically anything late-night.
Things like having all this wonderful happy anticipation inside me. Anticipation that maybe, just maybe, this month might be the month when that little pee stick finally shows two lines and we get to feel happier than we've ever felt before.
Things like lots and lots of free time all to myself.
Time to paint.
Time to write.
Time to snug.
Time to ride Scoots together.
So for now, life is wonderful.
Just me, Chas, and Scoots.

Sometimes I get engulfed in the "Babies are so cute" phase where all I think about is having a child. And then I remember all of these things that I still want to do like the late nights and late mornings. Growing my business and blog and letting myself grow in general.
I know some day it will come. But until then.. there are so many wonderful things in life to enjoy.
awww I love these pictures!!!
life without a baby is truly the meaning of "free" so enjoy it now and then one day your little crying will come along and youll have lots of new adventures. But until then youll never get this time back!
Stay positive! It will happen when it's supposed to happen. XO, Rae

lovelovelove your vespa! so cuuuuute!!!
What a great post, LOVE that vespa!!!
my husband and i rode a scooter recently in key west, and i thought, "i bet we look like sam and chas right now!" your future babe will be adorbs in that little jacket :)
That is the cutest little jacket ever! Its good to focus on the beauty that is in your life right now. My husband and I have been waiting 4 years for our own little cryings, but it hasn't happened yet. We've learned to look at life in new ways. Even if they aren't in our life right now though, we know, and are committed to having them in our life however we can. You are great! keep your chin up, and pee sticks in abundance!

you just soak up your little baby free fun for now :) someday your baby will come.
adorable! i'm getting the bug now. and have been pee sticking it for three months. no luck yet but soon. soon!
Love the hoodie. It instantly reminded me of Scoots too! Hang in there, when you least expect it, you will become pregnant with your own little cryings. Trust me, I know. But until then, you are so wise to focus on what you and Chas get to enjoy together. Although a little cryings brings exponential joy into your life, the things you did before that little one, are never the same.
XOXO
Thanks for the post, Sam! Sometimes it is hard for me to be patient for babies and I get down. But posts like this help me adjust my attitude.
That jacket is SO CUTE. Fingers crossed this month for you and me. :)
I love all of your position thinking Sam! I'll be saying some prayers for you and Chas that this will be THE month <3 You must have a little cryings to wear that scooter jacket!
I absolutely love your posts about little cryings. My husband and I got pregnant fast, and then miscarried in March and have absolutely no luck since then, so I like you, keep waiting for that little pee stick to make us super excited again, but I love that you also are helping me remember what is really fun before Heavenly Father decides it's time for one of those cute little cryings to join our family.
Such great perspective. I will be honest and say that while I adore, cherish and mug on my children constantly, there are times I really miss the ability to be spontaneous with Dill. Children really change the dynamics of a marriage. Our has been changed for the better, but I admit after almost 4 years of parenthood, I'm still trying to figure out how to adapt to this new wife-hood.
I hope that doesn't sound too negative. I do love being a mother, absolutely. But those late-night outings, spontaneous road trips? I miss them.
Love that you are loving life and looking on the bright side of things.
Also crossing all my fingers for you that this month is THE month. C'monnnn two linesss!! ;)
Life is wonderful...and I will tuck away a little prayer that you get those two lines on the pee stick this month!
XO

I went to one of my childhood best friends (post birth) baby shower last night. I was holding the little guy and he was looking up at me and it literally took everything in me not to get in my car and start the process of trying to get pregnant.
I feel like each life that is brought into this world is done so at a certain time for a reason. I can imagine it is incredibly hard waiting but I know your little one will come and when that time comes it'll be perfect.
I do the same thing - focus on the good things about child-free life. We aren't ready to start trying yet, but as you know I'm sure the wait will all be worth it! <3 Good luck to you guys. Love that little outfit too.
AW! I love that! To be honest, single me loves the no-baby situation. That is, until I hang out with friends' babies and my heart melts...
I just started reading your blog and I love it! I also love how you guys call babies cryings. In my household my husband and I call babies noodles. haha Anyways, I am right there with you when it comes to the baby desire and I LOVE that little scooter jacket! So cute!!

I'm so glad that you're open about this. I have to remind myself of the good things about life-without-baby often.
There are so many things I love about this post, so I must make a list to get them all out of my head:
-how your husband's shirt matches that adorable scooter
-how excited/hopeful you are to become a momma
-how pretty you look in a simple low ponytail
-how positive/optimistic you are
-how that is the cutest little jacket I've ever seen
P.S. Did you see that I FEATURED YOU as one of my all-time favorite blogs?! Check out my latest post :)
Lady, my heart hopes that your heart delights in a double lined pee stick this month! I feel your eagerness, it took my husbie and I a good while to conceive a little person... in the end it was a trip to Paris that did it.
Best advice ever- sex every second day- not every day. Makes stronger 'swimmers' apparently.
xxxxx em
ehum. yes, i just gave you bedroom advice. how. very. awkward.
I just saw your blog through "the daybook" blog. and OMG, I feel that way everyday as well!!! There aren't many people who are out there that talk about how they are trying, and it just makes me feel so good that there are others we can lean on and gain courage from that are going through the same thing. It always seems like people just get preggo even looking at their man. so not fair. I will keep you guys in mind as we go through our own struggle with the pee stick : )
I feel you, Sam! Babies is all I want right now.I've been wanting them since I was in my early teenager years, up until now.
I hope you will have your little cryings soon (and so do I)
Aww I like your list of positives!!! But I do hope there'll soon be one person to share those moments with! :o)
Also thank you so much for visiting and commenting on my blog, I was so excited to see your icon/name on there cause I love your blog!!! :o)
I do various things with the photos. for that particular post there was some lightening of the photo, adding a beigishy layer on low opacity to make it soft and then play with levels and contrasts, and add a low opacity yellow layer on top of it all. but there's some pretty good actions that do similar stuff too! I use those sometimes too, and then just play around with them to get the effect I want. I hope that helps? :oS
Anywhoo again, looove your blog! you guys are so cute, I can't even imagine how adorable your baby would be! Seriously!
Wow! Essay in the comment box. gooo sonja!
ugh sorry!
I LOVE the colour of that scooter!
God is never late... :)
Nothing better than living in the "now" and enjoying it for what it is.
Thanks for reminding me to focus on the good things about life when there's no baby. We're in the same "waiting period" as you, and sometimes it's hard. Thanks. :)
