time to get serious

Late at night, things can get preeeeetty serious around here.

First, after we're tucked in bed and just about to turn off the light, we have some Sam and Chas iPhone time.
We check email, blog surf, facebook, and tweet.
Basically, we hook into electronic social media like two robots.
We're cool.

After we unplug and become humans again, we snug up and talk about serious, important matters.

Like how if robbers came into our house, they'd mostly wanna steal our snugs.
Or how awesome it was that Chas was able to strap the tripod to his backpack using only butcher's twine.
And how one of us really wants a sugar cookie and the other really wants some "special drinks" (otherwise known as chilled water).

Our upstairs neighbors probably think they live above a kindergarten class for all the giggling that goes on after 11pm.

Here's a recent late-night gem:

In speaking about the misconception of the tomato being widely considered a veggie and not a fruit (See? These are intense convos), Chas made a very astute observation:

"The tomato should sue V8 for defamation. Poor misunderstood fruity tomato."

Brilliant.

This post makes me happy. Last night in bed, Kyle and I had an argument about whether or not I was, in fact, one of those wound-up little kids who runs around the house the half-hour before bedtime, yelling, I'M NOT SLEEPY I'M NOT SLEEP I'M NOT (crash). I think not. And then the dog crawled up between us and shoved her face in between us like, "Please stop talking, both of you. SOME of us have an early morning."

Hope you're having a happy Monday morning!

Oh my gosh...this is awesome. Seriously so. Too many conversations have to be super serious in marriage and this kind of serious is what makes life fun :)

Also, I hope you're snugs never get stolen. That would be heartbreaking.

Haha, we do the same thing - the social networking for a little bit before bed time. We definitely resemble robots as well!

I love snuggled-in, pre-sleep talks. They're some of my favorite married moments, right up there with snuggle-in, wake-up talks.

Husband and I do lots of laughing and talking (among other things ;)) after we are in bed, too. It's so nice to cuddle up and talk about your day with someone. :)

Snuggly times are THE BEST. Especially when they're intertwined with silliness. :)

This reminds me so much of my husband and me, minus the iPhones. We always have the strangest most exciting conversations when we SHOULD be sleeping. ;) lol

Get this. I'm a law student, and I just read a Supreme Court case that ruled on whether a tomato is a fruit or vegetable. THE SUPREME COURT.

(For the record, they decided on vegetable...but only for the purposes of the particular statute in question. Ha!)
