life lessons

Just some little lessons I've learned recently.
Thought I'd pass on the pearls of wisdom.

Blowing extra large bubbles may result in sticky gum inside your nostrils.

Be one step ahead of the game and detach the smoke detector when it's time to cook dinner.

Not getting a lollipop after being so brave during a flu shot is a serious problem.

No matter how satisfied you are with your current blog design, you'll soon want a new one.

Clicky pens are near impossible to avoid clicking at inappropriate (quiet) times.

Finally discovering the perfect shampoo, conditioner, and blow dryer combo for your hair probably feels as victorious as scaling Mt. Everest.
Probably.

While filling my car's tank,
the gentleman at pump 4:

"That's a neat dress but it looks kinda restrictive.
...Like you couldn't jump over a hurdle or anything in that."

Gas pump small talk:
it's best to just not engage.

Haha. I love the gass pump small-talk. I try to avoid that at all costs. I can relate to your bubble gum blowing though! HA! xo, rv

Please share your shampoo/conditioner/blow dryer combo! I'm currently on the hunt and always like to hear recommendations :)

When I was young, bubble-blowing once resulted in gum stuck on my nose for a week. And that's no exaggeration.
I now bring my own bag of DumDum's the doctor's.
Clicky pens are more addictive then drugs.
I'd love to meet the gentleman at pump 4.

Our smoke detectors drove us craaazy! We disconnected them a few weeks after we moved in and they've been down since. I love it when men try to comment on our fashion choices, they're hilarious!

Blog design! Its so true. I'll keep still for a while, but then- BAM!- I'm all antsy for it to look different. And I think pens in general are at fault for the majority of awkward, quiet moment, situations. I always drop/fling/explode/click them at just that moment.

ha i definitely take down the smoke detector too. dang things, trying to save our lives.

and i'm slowly working at finding the perfect hair trifecta too. except mine is shampoo/conditioner/curl gel stuff. what an adventure.

andddd i think it's so funny when boys comment on women's fashion. i woulda been like oh really cause i just won a hurdle contest before i came here and then enjoyed every little part of his very confused face. ha

Love this post! Ha ha...gas stations are always interesting places...that and airports for some reason... Hmmm..I know what you mean with clickable pens! :)

Loved this post! And I hear you on the blog design thing...I just started blogging in the last couple of months and I've already changed it...a few times!!

haha oh my gosh, the gas pump man has me laughing. Why would he say that? So wierd. I think non-gay men should never try to explain, or comment on, women's clothing. It is always awkward.

So hilarious and SO TRUE!

Our smoke detector goes off just about every time I make dinner - and I'm not even burning things! At least...I don't think I am. And my husband still eats it...

I HEAR YOU on the no lolipop thing...I wish we still got them. It was a tragedy when I would go to the doctors and they had switched from lolipops to stickers..NOT COOl.

Oh and you look gorgeous in those bubble gum pics!

sincerely,
your fellow pen clicky clicker

Great pics (I think those earrings are AMAZING) and amazing wisdom pearls :)

Love your witty/clever writing, Sam. Keeps me smiling...and thinking "will this dress allow me to jump hurdles?" Oh, so hilarious.

I would have to agree with the whole gas pump man conversation but there are exceptions to the rule ( of course) like when they give you a code so that you can get a free movie from the redbox :)

Haha, so true about the blog design...you are always SO in love with the new one, and then once you get used to it you're ready for a new one :)

I am terrible with clicky pens. I am also terrible with blowing bubbles and popping them all over my face. And today I had a fun encounter with a gentleman at the store. But he didn't comment on my clothing.

love this. thanks for your generous sharing of knowledge.

and weirdly, whenever people talk to me at gas stations i assume they're trying to kidnap or rob me. i take "don't talk to strangers" pretty seriously.

i'm a pen clicker. good thing i stick to pencils in class. why is discovering the perfect shampoo the hardest thing everrr? i am in need of some new good stuff. my hair hates me daily.

I love what you said about the smoke detector.
I was cooking the other night and the smoke alarm went off after I took something out of the oven. But since I live in an apartment I probably couldn't take it out.
But that's a great, and funny, tip!
And also: the guy at the gas station. A random thing to say, but hey, I never get spoken to at the gas station. So I think that is pretty cool.

Love how you did your hair<3 and the statement about bubble gum, sadly I had to learn that hard way as well. Haha
