Chas and I hardly ever watch T.V. and even though Chas is a film guy, I can only take a max of 1 movie a week before my brain starts to become mush and I feel disconnected from my husband.
And because we stream Netflix through our DVD player, we hardly ever hit up the local Rebox for a movie.
Also...
We have serious problems when it comes to actually returning a Redbox movie.
So Saturday night, on a whim, we picked up a Redbox movie and the whole time we're promising each other that this time we'll return it the next day.
Fast forward to Tuesday night.
It's late and I'm picking up Chas from his long work day.
We remember that the movie is still sitting at home and notice we have exactly 10 minutes to return it before we get charged for another day.
The race is on.
The deadline for returns is 9pm.
We return the movie at 9:03pm.
Fail blog but
"A" for effort.
Then we realize the car is almost out of gas so we stop by the gas station to fill up.
As we pull out of the gas station, we get a flat.
Chas bundles up and starts the process of changing the tire.
...2 hours later (and after help from the Barber Shop guys across the street), the tire is changed and we're ready to drive the 8 blocks home.
But the car won't start.
Apparently I hadn't turned the engine all the way off and so the battery had been running the whole time and was now dead.
Love it.
I call to enlist my friend's husband.
Aaron comes and saves the day with his car and jumper cables.
And then we finally drive home.
And that, my friends, is why we will never rent from Redbox again.
(And the movie was dumb.)
:)

I can't remember the last time I rented a movie. Although, we did go to Blockbuster the other day so that the fiance could pick up a video game. The experience, being back in a movie store, was very weird. So much easier on netflix. genius!
sounds like a yucky night.. *sarcastic* thanks redbox! :D Dig your outfit though :P
and here i was expecting a tale of how the dvd was scratched to the point you couldn't enjoy it (thats happened to us a couple of times) - that sounds like one crazy night though!
i hope the movie was good at least :)
love,
elisabeth
We've never used Redbox but I know exactly what you mean when you say you feel "disconnected" after watching a lot of movies. I feel it when I get online.
aww that's sad but a very cute story! we rent from redbox like crazy and do the same rush it back with one minute to spare thing!

blegh. sounds like something that would happen in my life. we're both "blessed" with that "our life should be a movie" quality:-) xoxo
Good gracious that was quite the night of unexpected turns! Glad you finally made it home and I would not want to rent from Redbox again!
love the colour of that clutch!
when it rains it pours. so sorry that happened to you guys. ;(
Oh my gosh you poor thing!!! I think I'd never rent again after that night either!!
Aww you are so adorable! What an annoying night...but now you'll have a "when I was pregnant with you..." story to tell your little one. :)
Also, I hope you're doing ok. You've seemed a little down lately and if so, I hope you get all the way back UP soon. Much love to you!
I see a teeny baby bump!
I hate Redbox, mostly because I never remember to take them back on time.
When it rains it pours :)
