this is happening.

i've always had fine, soft hair. it grows fast and i used to be able to wear it long and pretty. it used to be really nice. but that was back in high school.

after my divorce a few years ago, i lost a good deal of my hair from major stress and it's never been quite the same since. and now, my crazy postpartum hair loss is not helping the situation at all. thin, thin, and more thin. sometimes i wear it down and i think it's looking alright. then i happen to see a picture of myself. yikes. option b? wearing it almost everyday in a gross little antonio banderas ponytail. not ideal.

so guess what?

instead of always feeling frustrated with my hair and trying to make it something it's not, i'm gonna try embracing reality...and chop it all off. shorty short short!

in a time when looooong hippie are all the rage, why not be a bit different? could be refreshing :)

wish me luck!

oo! I've always wanted to cut my hair off but then I realize how much of a security blanket it is for me, and how my bad days often correlate with "hair up" days. However, I'm all for other people getting pixies! (:

AH! I'm envious of your courage and how simple it'll be to get ready, something that will be very handy when your sweet girl starts moving around the house and getting into EVERYTHING, like my little one does! Can't wait to see it, I'm sure it'll be great!

Haha I was just on pinterest and saw you pinning all these and thought, ! She is going to chop her hair! :)
you are much braver than I. But you've rocked the pixie cut before and I'm pretty sure if would not work well on me. So I will stick to dyeing it when I feel a need for change. Which reminds me, I need to talk to my friend about highlights ;)
Can't wait to see it!

Bravery right there! I love this cut and am envious of anyone that could pull it off. Take the plunge sister! I'm cutting bangs next week, and although I have had them before I'm a nervous wreck about it. But here's the amazing thing about hair- it grows back!

Oh, you can definitely pull it off! Go for it, girl!

Oh awesome, I love super short haircuts. I once had really short hair, not quite a pixie, and people keep asking me when I'm going to cut it again. It takes some confidence to pull off at first, but with all of the compliments you'll be getting you should be good to go!

I've always LOOOOVED the short short boy-look cuts. My favorite is Mia Farrow in the Rosemary's Baby times... My hair is way too thick for that. And after loads of failed attemps at having a cool short haircut, I'm having the patience (or trying) to grow it out. I am lucky enough to have straight, thick hair, I should embrace it. :)

Buttom line, we always want what we don't have! I love your idea, I hope it looks just like you envision it!
And also, hairdresser tip, drastic haircuts need time to adjust. It usually looks the best after 2 or 3 times of getting the same haircut. Your hair falls more naturally into place.

YOU. will. LOVE. it. Promise.

I did this a year or so ago and have never wanted to go back. My husband has requested I grow out my locks now, but as soon as he gets his fill I am baaaackkkk to the short short hair.

Cheers.
