what got me through another Monday

I hate Mondays. I really do.
I start dreading Monday morning sometime Sunday afternoon. I'll even have restless sleeps Sunday night with stress dreams.

Emotional wreck much? Jeeze louise.

I think it has do with the fact that I have an early group and so am the first one to come into a dark office. It's like this little evil reminder that I'm the only one at work while everyone else...isn't.

Once I get to work, turn on the lights, and have my first group, it really is fine. Really.
(But I still hate Mondays.)

Two little things made this all whole ordeal much more bearable today.

First, I'm learning how to style my hair so it can be naturally wavy. Today was a success. No curling irons necessary. Just gimme some curl-enhancing mousse, a diffuser, and a brush. Boo ya, grandma.

(Don't ask me where the second half of my eyebrow is in this pic because I don't know.)

Coming from someone who's had nothing but stick straight hair her entire life and has always referred to naturally wavy/curly hair as "my dream hair," this new discovery in the realm of possibilities for my hair is basically...earth shattering??? Yes, I'd say that's about right. A dream come true, a fantasy, and mind-blowing would all also be appropriate in this instance.

And then there's my fun little neon orange flats. 'Nuff said.

If me, naturally wavy hair, and orange flats hold on together, I know our dreams will never die.

...or at, the very least, Mondays will be a bit more doable.

Cute flats! And I'm wayyy jealous that your hair looks that good naturally. I have a natural wave as well, but I can't seem to work it. Do you think using a diffuser really helps?

Where are those flats from? I love them. And I totally dread Mondays too, in the exact same way...stressing all night Sunday and then waking up every 3 hours or so to stress some more! Glad I'm not alone :)

Ha the missing eyebrow comment totally made me laugh! Also, you are not alone. I didn't know what in the world was going on with my mess of a hair until a couple years ago... before that it was pretty much, well I don't like to think about that time! ;) The hair's looking good though, Lady!

OMG...I wake up Sunday morning dreading Monday. I practically ruin my only day off by being pissy about having to work the next day. I thought I was the only one. Thank you! :) LOL
Cheers,

Say what??? How did you get wavy hair without a curling iron?? I must know what this secret curl enhancer mousse is--- I've tried a couple and they NEVER work for me! I love love love your hair, it's perfection really.

Hey guys!

Just to answer some questions...

I got the shoes at a Ross in Oregon a few years ago...for $10! I'm tellin ya, this Ross was pure magic in the shoe department. I've yet to find another one like it.

Doing wavy hair like this is super easy! For me, the key is not washing it that morning but, instead, just gettingit wet. I think it has to do with the natural oils in your hair helping the wave, or something. Either way, my hair is much more inclined to be straight if I've just washed it.

So after it's all wet, I dry it lightly with a towel but don't brush through it. I use Herbal Essences "totally twisted curl boosting" mousse. Then I use my hands to scrunch it into my hair. I'll let it air dry for about 15 mins...so put on my makeup or something. Then I diffuse it until it's all the way dry. After it's dry, I brush it out throughly. I loose some curl this way but it also makes me a lot more soft and flowy instead of that crunchy/gel look.

Anyways, hope that helps! Let me know if it works for any of you straight-haired sistas!

Iphone ate your eyebrow!?! That's some craziness! Haha! The waves look great! I too have super straight and difficult hair to style. Lately I've been twisting it back while it's damp then when it's dry I let it down and give it a hairspray spritz. Voila, waves!

Mhmmm I wish my hair would do this. But, alas, not only do I have naturally straight hair, but it's fine as a baby's!
