and, just like that, my quality of life skyrocketed

this weekend, we finally became a two-car family!

after nine long months at home all day, i can't even tell you how happy this makes me. i'm proud of us for making the sacrifice of choosing to pay off loans for the first three years of our marriage and go without a second car but now my time has come! hero and i have some wheeeeeels!

so i'd like to introduce you to our new car, muddy buddy. mud bud is a 2010 kia soul with...wait for it...houndstooth interior and a dvd player! i'm obsessed.

it sounds silly but it's crazy how happy having access to a car everyday is making me. like when friends invited us to the zoo this friday, i didn't even have to think twice or try and work out a way to get there. i could just say "yes, we will be there!" right away :)

and today, as soon as hero wakes up from her morning nap, we're heading out to grandma's house! waaaahooo! vroooom vroooom!

(i need to get out more. clearly. good thing i finally can!)

Congrats!! That is so exciting!! And good on you guys for making loans a priority to pay off. The husband and I are working on that right now and can't wait to be debt-free! :)

Yeeha! Nice wheels....especially the houndstooth :-) That really inspired me what you said about taking three years to pay off your debts before buying a car...good on you for riding out the hard years, now im sure you appreciate the car a WHOLE lot more! I need to follow your example!

I didn't even know houndstooth interior was a possibility! So cute.

We're looking for a second car right now. I haven't had my own car for longer than four months since I was 18 so I'm pretty excited about it.

It's crazy what a difference it makes, isn't it? I go stir crazy being at home all day long and my kids do too. It's nice to break it up by going OUT somewhere!
(even if it's just to Grandma's house!)

Congrats on your car!! It's always a good feeling knowing that if you can go somewhere, you can.
I didn't realize that you didn't have access to a car all time, so I'm so glad for you! Especially for your daughter. Now you can take her easily to some many places! That's great.

Haha... My husband and I have been sharing a car for a year and a half now, so I know exactly how you feel! I am always working out ways to get places :)
Also- the houndstooth?!? How amazing!

We suffered with one car for just over a year (I was the one really resistant, actually, because I hate to spend money). After one week, I told Bart we were never going back to one car again!
