some hard stuff

Look how long my hair used to be. I miss it.

Also, that charming little argyle number Chas is wearing in this picture is no longer with us. We recently discovered moths had gotten to it along with the most perfect Jcrew blue sweater he rocked on T.V. We haven't been able to bring ourselves to totally throw either sweater out yet.
Let's not talk about it.

Yesterday, I spent almost all day in front of the computer working on my book. I started from the beginning and am going through, sentence by sentence, making small and large edits. It's pretty tedious but I think I like it better than having to come up with the original content. It's nice to have something already there to work with. The downside is I'm having to spend hours and hours immersed in every teensy tinsey detail of hard stuff- stuff I don't like thinking about. I had a little tummy ache by the time I got to page 18 and freaky deeky dreams last night. Actually, my dreams have been pretty crazy intense ever since I started this undertaking. It's ok, though. I can deal. All good, important things require some level of sacrifice from us, right? Right.

I love that you don't try to pretend like the whole thing never happened. Facing the hard stuff in our life is never fun. But will make us stronger and wiser in the end. And on top of that you are using your experiences to help others through their hard times. Very brave. Love you Sam!

I would be pretty sad about the sweaters too! I'm glad you are pushing through to get this book done even though it's hard. I just know it will help so many women who went through similar situations. You're an inspiring lady Mrs. Kelly. Miss you!

Sam, the moths got every single boden sweater I own (and I own a few) every last one. I can't talk about it.

You already know how I feel about your glorious book undertaking -- keep going, tiger! GOOOOOO!

I really, really HATE moths!!!!!!!

You're totally my hero for writing this book. I was telling another Mormon divorc-ee about it and she was really enthusiastic. Best of luck!

Can I just say that you and your husband are absolutely adorable together? Absolutely ADORABLE.

I think you should take the moth-eaten sweater and make yourself some fingerless gloves out of it. There's a how-to in Martha Stewart's magazine this month.

AND. You're writing a book? You're my hero. That is a feat I would like to tackle myself someday.

Good luck on your book! Just keep at it. I've written 2 and half really rough drafts and never had the heart to go back and edit. Be brave! :-)
