While we're gone: BON BON!

We're on the road to Oregon! Yessssss!

So let's get this party started, shall we?!
To start, we have Bon Bon

This is what you need to know about Bon Bon:
She's darling.
She has killer style.
She's growing a chickie.
She lives in Oregon.

(...no fair.)

Hello hello! Bon Bon here, filling in for the loverly Sam while she is out gallivanting through my neck of the woods and having some Oregon sunshine adventures with her stud hubs.

What's that? Oregon SUNSHINE adventures?

Yes, I am here to confirm that Oregon's clouds, on more than 3 occasions, will part, golden rays stream down, and Oregonians do celebration dances naked in the streets.

It's kind of a big deal.

Ok, we don't (all) dance naked in the streets. There is a naked bike ride though, no lie. And I am here to confirm that it is not a pretty sight.

Some more confirming about the hometown that's stolen my heart

*We get a little too excited about snow. 17 snowflakes turns into snowpocalypse. Every year.

*Coffee and beer pretty much flow through the streets.

*Bicyclists also flow through the streets. We even have bike taxis. They are driven by crazy people though...however, they will get you to your destination. Potato Potahto.

*Never. never. never. ever. pronounce it Or-eeeee-gone. Nails on a chalkboard.

*If you want to sound local, just call us Rip City or Stumptown.

*If you really want to look local, call us Stumptown, while drinking some Stumptown coffee, and wearing a flannel shirt, nudie jeans, vintage frye boots,  and warby parker glasses. Probably reading some Fyodor Dostoyevsky at Powell's too.

*Yes. I would be guilty of the above. With, a nose ring as well. Bam.

*You will feel like a celebrity at the gas station, (we don't pump our own gas).

*You always pay what is on the sticker, (we don't have sales tax).

*We have the beach, mountain, desert, rivers, lakes, city, country, college towns, ghost towns...pretty much everything.

*It's kind of foodie paradise here. We have amazing restaurants, and even more amazing...food carts. Don't be scared off by the taco/hot dog carts of your past. Embrace the food cart. Love the food cart. You'll find pods and rows and rows of them clustered together. Drool over them {here}.

*yada yada yada oregon is the best etc etc etc

I could go on and on and on. You'll either just have to take my word for it, orrrrrr, come check it out for yourself.

Be warned: People fall in major love with this place.

I mean, I live here. How could you not?

xoxo

I live/am from Portland and I LOVE love love this post. I love the way you describe it. Although not all locals look like your Stumptown description, it is definitly found here. I think we have the best of all worlds here, and our summers rock and totally make up for the dreary other seasons. We have amazing food (the basis of my blog!) and great beer and coffee....makes for some happy people!

Nice work, Bon Bon! I was at the Doug Fir one time and glanced out the window to a huge group of naked people riding by on their bikes. It was unexpected and I was no longer interested in eating. That is probably my least favorite Portland event!
